ETCompetes! Speaker Series: May 13-14, 2014: “Creative Place Making”

ETQG is pleased to help sponsor upcoming workshops led by Jason Schupbach, Director of Design, National Endowment of the Arts.  Join us to learn more about:

  • Understanding the economics of creative PlaceMaking
  • Creating economically competitive communities
  • Using “arts” to increase livability

East Tennessee is an area rich in music and visual arts. Elected officials and leaders can create economically competitive communities by using these “arts” to increase the livability of that respective municipality. Lively and vibrant communities are poised to attract entrepreneurial economies that create jobs, attract new industries in the creative market sector, and grow wealth. In rural communities, Main St. revitalization programs that involve both cultural and historic inventory have become economic engines to those communities, while local regional economic development agencies have focused efforts on attracting industries in the creative market sector.
