The Citizens Academy for Planning is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the tools and skills needed to navigate the planning and land use landscape of our community. Participants will come away with a new understanding of how planning works, practical approaches to dealing with community issues related to land use, and an invaluable experience role-playing in a mock planning commission meeting.
A Knoxville workshop will be held over two Saturdays: February 10 and 24, 9:00 am – 3:30 pm. Both sessions will take place at the City County Building, 400 Main Street SW, Knoxville, TN. The first session will include the fundamentals of planning and land use with the experts, highlighted with local stories and case studies. The final session will feature local leaders sharing their success stories and advice, followed by a mock planning commission meeting to give you real experience in advocating for change. A downtown reception with the participants and local officials caps off the last day.
ETQG plans to continue this training in counties throughout the region. For more information about the Citizens Academy for Planning, visit our Facebook page (@ETQualityGrowth) or email us (email@example.com).
