Registration Now Open for Citizens Academy for Planning

East Tennessee Quality Growth and the League of Women Voters of Knoxville/Knox County is pleased to offer “Citizens Academy for Planning.” This is a two day workshop for those who want to learn more about the role of local planning and how this process can be used to effect change in our communities.

Our goal is to provide participants with an understanding of the tools and skills needed to navigate the planning and land use landscape of our community.

February 10th and 24th
9:00 am – 3:30 pm
(Light breakfast available at 8:30 and lunch provided; reception to follow on 24th.)
City County Building, 400 Main St SW, Knoxville, TN

Citizens Academy for Planning focuses on how planning works, offering skills and tactics from planners with practical approaches to issues related to land use. Participants will gain experience role-playing in a mock planning commission meeting.

Participation is FREE for Knox County residents. There is a $30 fee for anyone outside the county, plus the purchase of optional reading material.
